Bay Area Alliance Elects New Board Member

Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families Coalition Manager Amanda McLauchlin is proud to welcome Jamey Norred to their Executive Board. Jamey and her company Learning Rx have been involved with the Alliance for a little over 18 months. A nominating committee put Jamey's name to the Board and she was elected with a unanimous vote. This addition helps round out the Board, with a couple of open positions. The Executive Board of the Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families consists of President – Neil Treble, DePelchin Children's Center Vice President – Jill Dorland, Clear Creek ISD Treasurer – Aaron Martinez, Schlitterbahn Galveston Secretary – Megan Black, Associated Credit Union of Texas Programs Chair – Lauri Coppock, Prime Lending Faith Based Committee Chair – Vacant SALSA/Youth Adult Council – Angela Owen, DePelchin Children's Center On the Road for a Reason Chair – John Warnement, City of Webster Health Care Liaison – Stacy Shipp, Bay Area Regional Medical Center Strategic Planning & Evaluation Committee Chair - Neely Kim Membership Committee Chair - Rae Millican, Texas Auto Resource Development Committee Chair - Debbie Schkade, Community Member Marketing Chair - Doug Meisinger, Clear Lake Today Clear View Alumni Chair - Vacant Capacity Chair - Jamey Norred, Learning Rx - Clear Lake Clear View Project Grad Chair - Ann Hammond, Community Member. About the Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families We’re a community coalition made up of youth and adults speaking and acting to bring about a healthier community by: Organizing a community effort that includes businesses, law enforcement, schools, youth serving organizations, parents, the faith community, healthcare agencies, civic organizations, cities, the media, and others to address underage drinking and other drug use; Increasing community awareness of substance abuse concerns and the resources that are available to address these concerns; Decreasing access to alcohol and prescription drugs in the home, school, and community environments; and changing community norms by encouraging and supporting parents who provide a no-use message for their youth.
